Rosa M. Albrecht, 86

Rosa M. Albrecht of White Lake, NY, a lifelong area resident, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, November 14, 2009. She was 86.
The daughter of the late Joseph and MaryEllen VanKeuren Sardonia, she was born February 8, 1923 in Monticello, NY.
Rosa was a graduate of Monticello High School Class of 1942; she was a lifetime member of St. Peter’s Church in Monticello; member of Sullivan County Home Extension; Catholic Daughters of America; Charter Member of Monticello Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary; charter member of the Mothers of Bethel (MOB); member of Cornelius W. Duggan School PTA; Bethel-Smallwood Senior Citizens and a member of Bailey-Richman VFW Post # 9588 Auxiliary, Monticello.
Gardening was her true passion. Rosa was well-known for her pressed flower arrangements. Her home was adorned with many collector plates and angel figurines, which she enjoyed collecting over the years.
Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Fred P. Albrecht of White Lake and Vincent Albrecht and his wife Bobbie of Hillsboro, NJ; three daughters, Diane Staley and her husband John of Annapolis, MD, Loretta Diamante and her husband Russell of Lincoln Park, NJ, and Ellen Sticker and her husband Bill of Marlboro, NY; a daughter-in-law, Michelle Albrecht of Smallwood, NY; a brother, Joseph Sardonia of Buckhead, GA; two sisters, Frances Kewley of Kauneonga Lake, NY, and Mel Keegan and her husband, John of Florida; four grandchildren, Sean, Kimberly and Daren Albrecht and Andra Perdomo; and four great-grandchildren, Annika and Avery Baumgardt and Alexys and Lucas Perdomo.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Fred Albrecht, who she married on December 30, 1945 at St. Peter's Church in Monticello. Her brother Milton Sardonia also predeceased her.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 18, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Ramsay’s Funeral Home, 3534 State Rt. 55, Kauneonga Lake. The Monticello Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary will hold services at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
A Service of Remembrance and Celebration of Rosa’s life will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, November 19, at the funeral home with Fr. John Tran officiating. Burial will follow the services at the VanKeuren Family Cemetery in Swan Lake, NY.
Memorial donations may be made in Rosa’s memory to St. Peter’s Church, 10 Liberty St., Monticello, NY 12701.
Funeral arrangements are by Ramsay’s Funeral Homes, Inc., Kauneonga Lake, NY.
