Terigio "Terry" Manno
Ret. Railroad Clerk, 98

Terigio “Terry” Manno was a longtime resident of Mileses. He was 98.
He was born in Brooklyn on September 16, 1909, the son of Sebastian and Louisa Manno.
Terigio was an employee of the New York City Transit Authority, from which he received a commendation. While Terigio was on duty, he observed a passenger staggering and then falling to the track bed. Clerk Manno leaped to tracks and lifted the injured passenger to the safety of the platform. The prompt and efficient action on the part of railroad clerk Terigio Manno prevented consequences of a potentially more serious nature. He was a member of TWU Local #100 retired members. Terigio served in the medical detachment 106th Infantry, New York National Guard and was honorably discharged. Terry was a conservationist and enjoyed birds and all other wildlife. He was an active participant and established Manno’s Farm.
He is survived by a son, George Manno and wife, Irene, of Mileses; grandchildren, Frank Manno of Mileses, Terence of Mileses, Amy and John Creech of Athens, Christina and Eric Kubenik of Jeffersonville, and Emma Manno of Mileses; a son-in-law, Rocco Azzato of Lake Ariel, Pa.; daughters, Marie DeStio of Farmingdale and Constance and John Bacigalupo of Long Island; a brother, Thomas Manno of Lake Worth, Florida; and many nieces and nephews; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Frieda Manno; a daughter, Louise Azzato; a son, Francis; brothers, Charles, Arthur, Adolph, Frank and Richard; a sister, Carmela Alteio; and a long-time companion, Ida Banuat.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 4 at 10 a.m. at the Holy Cross Church in Callicoon. Father Ignatius Smith O.F.M. will officiate.
Burial will be made in Holy Cross Cemetery in Callicoon.
