Kathleen R. Galligan
Accounting Manager, 67

Kathleen R. Galligan of Oakland Valley passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Thursday, April 24, 2008. She was 67.
She was the daughter of James W. Rohner and Marion E. Berthiaume Rohner of Port Jervis. Kathleen was born in Port Jervis in 1941.
In 1961 she became the wife of Vincent C. Galligan, Sr. and together they built the family homestead in Oakland Valley. There Vincent and Kathleen raised a family of five in the comfortable confines along the Neversink River.
Kathleen was the co-owner of the family business, Berthiaume´s Neversink Lumber also in Port Jervis with her surviving brother James W. Rohner. She was also the Accounting Manager for Galligan Construction. Kathleen was an exceptionally hard working woman, with employees and their families as her first priority. Work was important, but family was more important. She was a member of St. Mary´s R.C. Church in Port Jervis and Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Madonna No. 114, Port Jervis.
A family statement read, “Honey, Mom, Grandma or Grum was always happiest when her family was by her side.” Many cherished memories were made and will not be forgotten during the holiday seasons when all of the family was gathered as one. Boonville became their favorite getaway destination, with that cabin on the lake and July 4th celebrations.
Surviving are her beloved husband, Vincent C. Galligan, Sr. at home; her loving mother, Marion E. Rohner of Port Jervis; her five children, Vincent C. Galligan, Jr. and his wife, Suzanne of Oakland Valley, Joseph J. Galligan and his wife, Lisa of Boonville, daughter Marianne Ramos and her husband, Ignacio of Port Jervis and her daughter, Jean M. Miller and her husband, Earl of Port Jervis, son, Shawn E. Galligan and his wife, Candice of Oakland Valley; her brother, James W. Rohner and his wife, Maryann of Port Jervis; 15 grandchildren,Vincent III and his wife, Jeni, Scott and his Fiance, Michele Weidel, Ashley, Sarah, Zachary, Nicholas, Patrick, Elena, Kelsey, Christopher, Joshua, Brenna, Kristen, Daniel and Shawn; also many nieces and nephews.
Kathleen was predeceased by her father, James W. Rohner and her grandson, Joseph J. Galligan, Jr.
A Christian Wake Service was held on Sunday at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, Port Jervis. The Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Madonna No. 114, Port Jervis held a service at the funeral home.
Funeral services were held on Monday, April 28, 2008 with a prayer at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's R.C. Church, Port Jervis. Father George Hafemann officiated.
Burial was made in St. Mary's Cemetery, Port Jervis.
