Arlene M. Starck
Ret. C.R.M.C. Employee, 96

Arlene M. Starck of Pinehurst, N.C., and formerly of Woodbourne, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2008 at Pinehurst Healthcare Center. She was 96.
Born in Fosterdale, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mabel (Hadden) McCoach.
Arlene was a retired employee of Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris.
She is survived by a daughter, Joyce Schoonover and husband, Roger of Aberdeen, N.C. and a son, Paul Starck of Pinehurst; also four grandchildren; a sister, Edythe Rauch; and sister-in-law, Patricia McCoach both of Liberty; several nieces, nephews and cousins all of whom were part of her loving and extended family.
In addition to her deceased husband, Harry L. Starck, formerly of Callicoon, she was predeceased by her brothers, J. Thomas McCoach and Clifford McCoach.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 3 in North Carolina.

Marie Elizabeth Roden
Ret. Social Security Adm., 85

Marie Elizabeth Roden of Monticello died Saturday, July 5, 2008 at her home surrounded by her family. She was 85.
The daughter of the late Thomas Granahan and Mildred Kelley Granahan, she was born September 18, 1922 in Avoca, Pa.
Marie worked as a licensed practical nurse for many years at the Monticello Hospital and later went on to work for the Selective Service during the Vietnam War. She then retired from the Social Security Administration in Monticello.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, James J. Roden, at home; a sister-in-law, Clare Granahan of Scranton, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews, including Dianne and Robert Austin of Liberty.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Granahan.
Services will be held on Tuesday, July 8 at 10 a.m. at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello.
Burial will follow in the Cathedral Cemetery in Scranton, Pa. at approximately 1 p.m.
Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550.
Arrangements are under the direction of the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home of Monticello.

Harry Joseph Fisher
Ret. NYS D.O.T. Inspector, 76

Harry Joseph Fisher a lifetime resident of Hortonville, a retired inspector for New York State Dept. of Transportation, died Sunday, July 6, 2008 at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. He was 76.
The son of Charles and Catherine Kutsher Fisher, he was born in the Town of Delaware on October 30, 1931.
He was a member of the Tamarac Hunting Club, former member of the Hortonville Fire Dept., a U.S. Navy Veteran, and he was a 31 year employee of the NY State D.O.T.
Survivors include his children, Joan Canfield of Damascus, Pa., James Fisher of Copenhagen, Thomas Fisher of Callicoon and Cathy Fisher of North Carolina; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by twelve brothers and sisters.
Friends may call on Friday, July 11 at Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home in Callicoon from 4 to 6 p.m.
Services will be on Friday at the funeral home at 6 p.m.
Cremation will be private.

Arline Lustenberger
Ret. bookkeeper, 78

Arline Lustenberger, of Smallwood, died at her home on Saturday, July 5, 2008. She was 78.
The daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth Green Elz, she wasborn in New York City, on September 1, 1929. She was the widow of the late Fred Lustenberger.
Arline was a retired bookkeeper for Edo Corp. in College Point, N.Y.
Survivors include her son, Rick Connors and his wife, Joellen of Ridgefield, CT and three grandchildren, Matthew Connors, Courtney Connors, and Kathleen Connors.
The family will received friends at the White Lake Reformed Presbyterian Church on Thursday, July 10, from 2:30 to 3 p.m. Memorial services will then be held at 3 p.m. with Rev. David Coon officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
Funeral arrangements are by Ramsay’s Funeral Homes Inc., Kauneonga Lake, N.Y.
