Ruth E. Kinne Knapp
January 26, 1925 - October 8, 2013

Ruth E. Kinne Knapp, a lifelong resident of Sullivan County, passed away at her home on Tuesday, October 8, 2013, surrounded by her loved ones. She was 88.
Ruth was born on January 26, 1925 in White Lake, NY to the late J. Willis and Catherine McCormick Kinne. She is the last surviving member of the David Barton Kinne family who were the owners of the White Lake Mansion house, where she was born. She was the widow of Arthur T. Knapp.
Survivors include daughters, Catherine Carnesi of Poughkeepsie, NY, Ruth Salomon and her husband Carl of Monticello, NY and Alice Witherel of Ferndale, NY; sons, Arthur Knapp and wife Maryann of Rock Hill, NY and Kenneth Knapp of Lake Huntington, NY; one sister-in-law, Shirley Vandervoort of Monticello, NY; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins and her faithful companion, Lucy. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur T. Knapp; by a son, William Knapp of Jefferson, GA and her son-in-law, Carl Witherel of Ferndale, NY.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, October 11 from 11 a.m. to noon at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 3534 Route 55, Kauneonga Lake, NY.
Funeral services will be at noon on Friday, October 11 at the funeral home. The Rev. David Coon will officiate.
Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Route 17B, Bethel.
The Knapp family would like to thank Irene Trickey and her staff for Ruth's care during her stay at the Skilled Nursing Unit at Catskill Regional Medical Center. Also, we would like to thank Dr. R. Butler and the Fifth Floor Nursing staff who knew and gave such good care to Ruth.
