Elmer Brucher
Contractor, 83

Elmer “Shorty” Brucher of Bethel, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at Arden Hill Hospital in Goshen. He was 83.
A lifelong resident of Bethel, he was born to the late Charles and Cora Edwards Brucher in Bethel on February 10, 1925.
He was a self-employed contractor and Secretary/Treasurer of the Evergreen Cemetery Association in Bethel.
He was a 40-year member of the Bethel Lions Club, former member of the White Lake Fire Dept., and a member of the Town of Bethel Planning Board.
He is survived by his wife, Jean at home; two sons, Lloyd A. Brucher of White Lake, and Roger C. Brucher and wife, Carol of Callicoon; three grandchildren, Kristen, Kevin, and Lloyd Brucher; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by three brothers, Lloyd, Walt, and Ernie, and one sister, Lillian Phillips.
Friends may call at Ramsay’s Funeral Homes, Inc., 3534 State Route 55, Kauneonga Lake on Friday, October 3 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, October 4 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Nancy Asbury officiating.
Burial will follow the service at Evergreen Cemetery, Route 17 B, Bethel.
The family requests memorial donations to The Bethel Lions Club, PO Box 429, White Lake, NY 12786, or The Bethel Presbyterian Church, PO Box 157, Bethel, NY 12720.
