Phillip S. Gottschalk
Feed Mill Owner, 97

Phillip S. Gottschalk lifetime resident of Hankins, owner of the Gottschalk Feed Mill in Hankins, died Monday, October 20, 2008 at home. He was 97.
Son of Phillip F. and Edith St. John Gottschalk, he was born on July 15, 1911 in Hankins.
He was a 74 year member of Delaware Lodge 571 Free and Accepted Masons, 74 year member and trustee of the Hankins United Methodist Church and a 74 year member of the Hankins Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Dorothy Maguire Gottschalk at home; his son, Phillip E. Gottschalk and his wife, Andrea of Florida; his daughter, Lou Ann Kelting of Vermont; his grandchildren, Christine Gottschalk, Ann Marie Gottschalk, Tammy Hempstead and husband, Tracy, Edward Kelting, Kevin Kelting and Heidi Hulse; his great-grandchildren, Hunter and Skyler Hempstead, Brian and Cody Kelting and Amanda Hulse.
Services will be held on Friday, October 24 at the Hankins United Methodist Church from 11 a.m. to noon. The Rev. William Wolfe will officiate.
Burial will be made in the Hortonville Cemetery, Hortonville.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550 or the Hankins United Methodist Church, PO Box 44, Hankins, NY 12741.

Patricia Willoughby
CIA Analyst, 84

Patricia Willoughby, formerly Patricia Grace Freda of the late Francis and Grace Freda of Callicoon, died on October 7, 2008 at the Franciscan Missions of Mary community in North Providence, R.I., from acute leukemia. She was 84.
A graduate of DVCS and of Barnard University, Mrs. Willoughby had a long career that spanned many continents working for Special Services for the U.S. Army and as an analyst for the CIA.
She married Anthony Willoughby in 1965 and is survived by him. They had no children. She is also survived by her two sisters, Rosemary Freda and Peg Freda, both of N. Providence; and two brothers, John Freda of Portland, Ore. and Richard Freda of Damascus, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass was held at the chapel of the Community House of the Franciscan Missions of Mary, followed by interment in the private cemetery of the facility.
