Dr. Warren L. Miller
Retired Doctor, 79

Warren L. Miller, 79, of Sparta, New Jersey, passed away after a long illness on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at Beth Israel Hospital, in New York City, New York.
Dr. Miller was born in Mt. Holly, New Jersey and raised on Staten Island.
He graduated Wagner College in 1950. He moved to Sparta in 1974.
Dr. Miller earned his PhD in biochemistry from the UMDNJ School of Biomedical Science in Newark. He worked in Schering-Plough Pharmaceutical Co. in Bloomfield prior to his employment for 27 years at the Veterans Hospital in East Orange in hematology research.
After his retirement from the VA Hospital, Dr. Miller held several positions, including one as a consultant with Camber Corporation and for nine years with the County of Sussex in safety.
Dr. Miller is survived by his wife, Maureen McDonough Miller, of Sparta, New Jersey; his daughter, Breena Taira and her husband, Taku, of Mineola; and his grandson Lev Sakae Taira; his sister, Marcia Salton and her husband, Alvin, of White Lake; and several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 28, 2008, at Jewish Center of Sussex County Cemetery, North Hardyston, New Jersey.
His family will observe a period of mourning at his home on Saturday evening and on Sunday. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Sparta, New Jersey 07871.
