Robert F. Allison
Retired Crane Operator, 87
Robert F. Allison of Albany, NY passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, NY. He was 87.
He was a resident of Albany for over 50 years.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bernice R. Allison; his two daughters, Joan Marshall of White Lake, NY and Patti Chase of Blossvale, NY; son Robert M Allison of Central Bridge, NY; five grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Born in Arena New York, Robert enjoyed racing horses, specifically trotters, for many years. He worked as a crane operator for Union Local 106 and was also a member of the Elk's Club and Mason's union.
His generosity and devotion to his family created a welcoming atmosphere that was enjoyed by all. He will be greatly missed.
Services will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, 5068 Route 52, Jeffersonville, NY. Viewing will begin at 11 a.m. followed by services at 1 p.m.
He will be laid to rest at Kenoza Lake Cemetery.

Gladys L. Devaney
November 24, 1915 - December 12, 2013
Gladys L. Devaney, a lifetime Sullivan County resident, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Catskill Regional Medical Center. She was 98.
She was born on November 24, 1915 in Loch Sheldrake, NY to the late William and Eunice Bullock Bonnell.
Gladys was the owner of Irene's Beauty Shop. She was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church, a charter member of Town of Liberty Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and a member of Happy Footers Square Dance Club. She was also an avid bowler. Gladys was kind and caring and was a very fashionable woman.
She leaves behind her son, Edwin “Sonny” McCrea and his wife Ginny of Clearwater, FL; two grandchildren, Brian McCrea and Tammy McCrea Russo of Florida; niece, Patti Huebner (Daniel); nephews, Gary Coddington (Linda), Ernest Wood (Annette) and Jeff Wood.
She was preceased by her husband, Thomas Devaney; daughter, Beverly McCrea; brothers, Victor Bonnell and his wife Patricia and William Coddington and sisters, Louise Piatt, Viola Wood and Beatrice Coddington.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 16 at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 275 S. Main St., Liberty, NY, with the Rev. Kenneth Rodgers officiating.

Sara Rebecca Sacks Levine
August 27, 1923-December 13, 2013
Sara Rebecca Sacks Levine, a retired legal stenographer and former longtime resident of Monticello, entered into rest at her home in Ocala, Florida with her family at her side on December 13, 2013. She was 90.
The daughter of the late Jacob Sacks and the late Lena Neiman Sacks, she was born August 27, 1923 in Mountaindale, NY.
Sara graduated at 16 years of age from Mountaindale High School as the class valedictorian in 1940. While working for the Office of Strategic Services, a U.S. intelligence agency during World War II, she met and later married her beloved husband of 43 years, the late Milton Levine.
Sara is survived by her loving sister, Rachel Rappaport of San Francisco, California. She is also survived by her daughter, Lana Edwards (Bruce) of Ocala, Florida, three sons, Jack Levine (Eileen) of Tampa, Florida, Charles Levine (Debra) of Monticello, and George Levine (Suzanne) of Las Vegas, Nevada. She also leaves behind four grandchildren, Matthew Levine, Dara Levine Staggers, Meredith Levine and Jesse Levine, as well as eight nieces and nephews, including her beloved niece Carol Feuer Diamond of Wurtsboro, NY.
She was also predeceased by two brothers, Sol Sacks and Joseph Sacks, two sisters, Rose Feuer and Anne Michaels, and her nephew, the late Dr. Alan Feuer.
A memorial service for Sara will be held in Silver Springs Shores, Florida on December 28th.

Lawrence G. “Larry” Scott
January 5, 1944 - December 12, 2013
Lawrence G. “Larry” Scott of Callicoon, a retired antique dealer, died Thursday, December 12, 2013 in Callicoon. He was 69.
Son of the late George and Elsie Scott, he was born January 5, 1944 in Paterson, NJ. Larry was the husband of Mary Bell Scott.
Larry was a longtime friend of Bill W.; a member and Elder of Hortonville Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed train excursions, reading about local history, model aviation, gardening, bird watching, cooking, Maine vacations, watching game shows, meeting new friends, and spending time with family and friends.
Larry is survived by his wife, Mary Bell Scott at home; a brother, George Scott of the state of Florida; two sisters: Dorothy Senia of Stratford, CT and Florence Tremper of Circleville; a daughter, Amy Cambron of Michigan; a stepdaughter, Emily Perkins of Bethesda, MD; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his best friend and canine companion, Mitsy. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother, William H. Scott.
Graveside Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at the Hortonville Cemetery, County Road 121, Hortonville, NY.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
