Alice Rock of Richmond, Va., formerly of Jeffersonville, passed away at home on Thursday, April 7, 2011 with her children by her side. She was 72.
She was born May 29 1939 in Brooklyn.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Fred Rock Sr. on April 14, 1989.
She is survived by her three children, Fred Rock of Youngsville, Susan Rock of Jeffersonville, and Laurie Rock of Richmond, VA.
There will be no visitation or services.
Cremation took place at the Crematory Society of Richmond, VA.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Herman Esselman
Retired Milk Plant Supervisor, 95
Herman Esselman of Damascus, Pa., a retired milk plant supervisor and longtime resident of the area, died Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center in Honesdale, Pa. He was 95.
The son of the late Klaas and Derkji Snyder Esselman, he was born August 11, 1915 in Prospect Park, NJ. Herman was married for 65 years to the late Florence Algera Esselman, who had passed away on October 27, 2004.
Herman was a member of the Damascus Baptist Church and the Damascus Township Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
A family statement reads, “Herman was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather. He was such a big part of the family. He will be missed by his family and all that knew him.”
Survivors include his three daughters, Deanna Tegeler and her husband Robert of New City, Lynda Marks and her husband Frank of Damascus, Pa. and Nancy Avery and her husband Lyle of Beach Lake, Pa.; two sons, Herman Esselman and his wife Dot of Lake Huntington, and Robert Esselman and his wife Betty Ann of Frost Proof, Fla.; one brother, Richard Esselman of New Jersey; 24 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his wife, Florence, his two brothers, and three sisters.
Friends are invited to call on Friday, April 15, 2011 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 90 Main St., Narrowsburg.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 16, at the Damascus Baptist Church, Damascus, Pa., with the Rev Stuart Hunt officiating.
Burial will follow at HillCrest Cemetery, Damascus, PA.
