Elizabeth Schiavello
Ret. Clinical Statistician for Sloan Kettering Hospital, 85
Elizabeth Schiavello of Callicoon, NY, a retired clinical statistician for Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital in Manhattan, died Monday, December 12, 2011 at Achieve Rehab and Nursing Facility in Liberty. She was 85.
The daughter of the late Leo and Leah Panerello Schiavello, she was born April 7, 1926 in Queens.
She is survived by a sister, Virginia Pawlak; nephews, Brian Marino and his wife Marie, Anthony Loiacono and Frankie Loiacono; a niece, Denise Plume and her husband Bill; a grandnephew and a grandniece, Anthony Marino and Danielle Marino; and a dear special cousin, Eleanor Cook.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, 34 Upper Main Street, Callicoon, NY.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 16 at Holy Cross Church, Route 97, Callicoon with Father Ignatius Smith, OFM, officiating.
Burial will be made in the Callicoon Cemetery, Callicoon.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

William Mullen
Ret. Heavy Equipment Operator, 80
William “Uncle B” Mullen, a lifelong Liberty resident, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2011 at his residence. He was 80.
The son of the late Phillip and Margaret Fletcher Mullen, he was born September 13, 1931 in Liberty, NY.
He was a retired heavy equipment operator for the Town of Liberty Highway Department and a member of St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church in Liberty. An avid hunting and fishing enthusiast, he belonged to Cranberry Pond Hunting Club and was a lifetime member of the NRA. He was a 50-year member of JC Young Hose Co. #1, Liberty Fire Department, and a member of the Neversink-Rondout Antique Machinery Assn.
He is survived by two sons, Todd Mullen and his fiancee Melanie Karkkainen of Cochecton and Michael “Mickey” Mullen and his wife Patty of Liberty; a daughter, Margaret Eisenberg and her husband Steve of Fort Myers, Fla.; a brother, Phillip Mullen and his wife Betty Mullen of Liberty; grandchildren, Patrick Mullen, Jacqueline Mullen, Devin Mullen and Ian Mullen; step-grandchildren, Austin, Kyle and Kaitlin Polomcean and great-granddaughter, Cassandra Curtis; his lifelong friend, Elinor Wells of Parksville; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Jacqueline; his brother, Robert Mullen; and his sister, Patricia Smith.
Visiting hours will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Ramsay’s Funeral Home, 275 S. Main Street, Liberty, NY.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, December 16 at St. Peter’s Church, 264 S. Main St., Liberty with Msgr. Edward Straub officiating.
Burial will take place at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Liberty, following Mass.
