A lifetime resident of Narrowsburg, Kris fought a valiant battle against colon cancer. She passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, surrounded by her loving friends and family. Born November 27, 1950, Kris was one of six children of the late Emma and Charles Scheibling. She was the wife of George Schluer for over 39 years.
She will be missed tremendously by her daughter and best friend, Melissa. Kris will be forever remembered by her siblings, Loretta Maas, Charles Scheibling, Lorraine Bodens, Henry “Uncle Buddy” Scheibling, and countless other friends and family who were blessed to know her kind soul. She was predeceased by her sister, Susan Scheibling.
Kris worked many years as a beautician and was lucky enough to fulfill her dream of owning and operating her chocolate shop, “The Three Chocolatiers” in Jeffersonville. She was a gifted craftsperson who also loved cooking for her family. Her smile and extraordinarily warm heart will be missed.
Friends and family may call from 2-4 and 7-8 p.m., Saturday, February 26, at Rasmussen Funeral Home, 90 Main Street, Narrowsburg. A Memorial Service will be held at 8 p.m., Saturday evening at the funeral home.
Kris maintained her will to beat cancer until the very end. Contributions in her memory may be made to the cancer research or cancer treatment center of your choice.

Richard A. Lott
Retired Truck Driver for UPS, 72
Richard A. Lott of Jeffersonville, a retired truck driver for United Parcel Service in Ferndale and a lifetime area resident, died Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Orange Regional Medical Center’s Horton Campus in Middletown. He was 72.
The son of August and Leila Wahl Lott, he was born May 31, 1938 in Callicoon. He was married to Barbara Williams Lott.
Mr. Lott was a 53-year member and past chief of the Jeffersonville Fire Department, and a charter member of the Jeffersonville Ambulance Corps.
He is survived by his wife Barbara at home; his son, Richard Lott and his wife Kimberly of Virginia Beach, Va.; his daughter, Lori Bastone and her husband John of Thornwood; two sisters, Barbara Hahn and her husband George of North Branford, Conn. and Nancy Harder and her husband Douglas of Sparta, N.J.; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; his step-children, Dana Heyn of Damascus, Pa., Dale Heyn of Narrowsburg, and Laura Lorgan of Warwick; his uncle, Franklin Hahn of Callicoon; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, February 25 at the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home in Jeffersonville.
A firematic service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 26 at the funeral home with Pastor Kit Robison officiating.
Burial will be in the Jeffersonville Lutheran Cemetery.
