Virginia Lewis of Equinunk, Pa., a homemaker and an area resident since 1971, died Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Wayne Memorial Hospital, in Honesdale, Pa. She was 81.
The daughter of the late George and Margaret Taylor Johnson, she was born August 28, 1929 in Yardley, Pa.
She was the widow of Robert Paul Lewis Sr.
Virginia was a foster parent, caring for 150 children over many years.
She is survived by her children, Dennis William Lewis, Deborah Susan Blum, Stephen Scott Lewis, Brian Thomas Lewis, Matthew John Lewis, Michelle Lynn Lewis, and Megan Lewis; two brothers, Albert Shanks and Richard Shanks; one sister, Laurie Anderson; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by two sons, Robert Paul Lewis Jr. and Jonathon Lewis, and by two daughters, Jennifer Lewis and Kathleen Margaret Lewis.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Hankins Assembly of God Church in Hankins.
Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday at the Hankins Assembly of God Church in Hankins.
Burial will be in Braman Cemetery, Equinunk, Pa.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Doris E. Hall
Homemaker, 80
Doris E. Hall of Tyler Hill, PA and formerly of Newburgh, NY, a housewife and a longtime resident of the area, passed away Monday, July 4, 2011 at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale, PA. She was 80.
The daughter of the late Jonathan J. and Bessie Elizabeth Score Fletcher, she was born March 11, 1931 in Newburgh.
Doris was a member of Calkins Union Baptist Church.
A family statement reads: “Doris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an active part of our family and will greatly be missed. Our hearts are torn but she is with the Lord.”
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Oscar Hall; four children, Lois Bartholomew and her husband David of Wallkill, Warren Hall and his wife Debra of Tyler Hill, PA, Mark Hall and his wife Carolyn Best-Hall of Wallkill, and Debra Hall of Cochecton; seven grandchildren: Eric and Rachel Bartholomew, Warren and Jereme Hall, Timothy and Pete Best-Hall, and Andreas Nedwetzky II; 10 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Bessie Fletcher of Tyler Hill, PA.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Calkins Union Baptist Church, Milanville, PA.
Burial will be in the Calkins Union Cemetery, Milanville, PA.

Kathleen Glendon
Formerly of Callicoon, 48
Kathleen Irene Ferber Glendon of Moyock, NC, died Monday, June 27, 2011 at the Albemarle Hospital. She was 48.
Mrs. Glendon, a native of Callicoon, NY, was the daughter of Raymond Edwin Ferber and Linda Irene Luckey Ferber of Callicoon, and the wife of Robert Francis Glendon of Moyock.
She was a member of and worked in the before and after school care of Moyock United Methodist Church.
Besides her parents and husband, she is survived by a daughter Laura-Leigh Irene Glendon of Moyock; a son, Edwin Robert Glendon of Moyock; and a brother, John Henry Ferber of Callicoon.
A family visitation will be held Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 7 p.m. at Hortonville Volunteer Fire Dept. in Hortonville, NY.
