Ronald Winarick
Formerly of Monticello

Ronald Winarick, 55, of Linwood, NJ, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2011.
Ron was born in Monticello, NY, and he was a proud graduate of Cornell University. A well respected entrepreneur with a long and successful career in the hospitality industry, Ron will be remembered as a man of profound integrity, thought and charisma.
Ron is survived by his loving wife, Andrea (nee Pesce) and their children, Jenna, Cole and Gordon Winarick of Linwood, and his loving sister, Debra (Stephen) Rovitz of New York. Ron will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services Tuesday, June 28 at 2 p.m. at Congregation Beth Israel, 2501 Shore Road in Northfield, NJ.
Interment to follow at Beth Israel Cemetery in Egg Harbor Township, NJ.

Lillian Gabriel
Formerly of Bethel

Lillian A. (nee Yeomans) Gabriel died on Wednesday, June 22, 2011. She was the beloved wife of the late Norman Gabriel; devoted mother of Betty-Jane Chandler and her husband Michael and the late Norman F. Gabriel; cherished grandmother of Karyn Chandler Greenwaldt; and dear sister of Richard Yeomans and the late Helen Irene Dresch.
A funeral service was held Monday, June 27 in the Vermillion Chapel at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home, Meadowridge Memorial Park, Inc., 7250 Washington Blvd., Elkridge, MD 21075.
Interment was made in Glen Haven Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc.; Greater Maryland Chapter, 1850 York Rd., Suite D, Timonium, MD 21093.

Hazel (Muthig) Raflowitz, 93
Formerly of Liberty

Hazel (Muthig) Raflowitz of Miami, Fla. and formerly of Liberty, passed on Wednesday, June 22, 2011. She was 93.
A long time resident of Miami, Fla., she is survived by her children Ronald and Paula; grandchildren Bryan, Nikki, Jason and Taylor; great-grandchildren Dustin and Makenzee; and brothers Harold, Paul, Raymond and sister Annette, all from New York.
She is pre-deceased by husband Moe Raflowitz, daughter Sherry Weed, and brothers Grant, Calvin, Clyde, Blake, William and sisters Mildred, Fern and Doris.
A family statement reads, “Our mother was a loving, compassionate devoted woman who was always there for her children and family. She has left a void in our hearts. Mom you are truly missed and forever loved.”
Services were held Monday, June 27 at the Van Orsdel Funeral Chapel in Miami, FL, 305-279-6644.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lions Club for their programs for the blind.

Jennie D. Merritt
Retired Secretary, 93

Jennie Della Merritt, a retired secretary for the Sullivan Co. Adult Care Center in Liberty, died Saturday, June 25, 2011 in Syracuse. She was 93.
Born April 30, 1918 in Herrickville, PA, Jennie was a member of the Reformed Church of Claryville and was the widow of Harold Merritt who predeceased her on May 18, 1996.
She is survived by three grandchildren: Spencer Merritt, Dean (Pamela) Merritt and Leonidas Merritt; five great grandchildren: Samantha (Jack) Rader, Dylan Merritt, Tasha Merritt, Jessica Merritt and Jacob Merritt; and a daughter-in-law: Christine Merritt.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son: Arthur W. “Jake” Merritt.
Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. on Friday, July 1 at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 1 at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Rock Ridge Cemetery in Monticello.

Isabella Coney, 86
October 29, 1924 - June 26, 2011

Isabella Coney, a lifelong resident of Monticello passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2011 at St. Theresa’s Adult Home in Middletown. She was 86.
The daughter of the late Charles Morris & Lena Libolt Morris, she was born October 29, 1924 in Phillipsport.
Isabella was a member of the Moose and Eagles, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, the Happy Hobos and the Forestburgh Seniors. She also worked at the Miss Monticello Diner for many years and was a lunch lady at the Monticello Schools. She was the widow of Donald F. Coney Sr. who predeceased her on September 26, 2002.
She is survived by three sons: Richard Coney and his wife Gail of Narrowsburg, Ronald Coney and his wife Lisa of Winter Park, FL, and Robert Coney and his wife Tamara of Neversink; a daughter: June Conklin and her husband Tom of Monticello; 12 grandchildren: Richard, Michael (Nerrisa), Jason (Katie), Brian, Karyn (Jermaine), Stacy (Ron), Brittany, Dana (Mark), Erin, Tim, Sarah and Jackson; 17 great-grandchildren: Adam, Devon, Daniel, Joey, Russell, Amber, Alyssa, Ashley, Tiffany, Jessica, Courtney, Zoie, Lucas, Caden, Rhys, Shota and Ellablue; one great-great-granddaughter: Arianna; four brothers: Leon, Earl, Harry and Carl; five sisters: Carol, Arlene, Kathy, Lena and Tessie; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son: Donald Coney Jr.; three brothers: Sonny, Lenny and Eddie; and two sisters: Ruth and Alice.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 29 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 30 at the funeral home with Pastor Jack Polin officiating. Burial will follow at the Rock Ridge Cemetery in Monticello.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Teresa’s Nursing Home, 120 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940.
