William R. Alber, 79

William Robert Alber, 79 passed away after a brief illness on Monday March 21st, 2011. Born November 27, 1931. Leaves a wife of 53 years, Arlene, daughters Patricia Tabacco & Arlene McKenna and a son William John Alber. He was a resident of Callicoon for over 30 years. William owned and operated a small business in Glendale NY for 34 years. William enjoyed flying small aircrafts for many years at Sullivan County Airport. William proudly served his county as an Army Staff Sergeant in the Korean War from January 29th, 1952 thru January 12th, 1954. William will be dearly missed by many family members as well as his dear friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at Flinch and Bruns, 34th Hempstead Avenue, Lynbrook, N.Y., on Sunday, March 27, from 2 to 5 p.m.
Burial will be on Monday, March 28, at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, with full military honors.

Mabel W. Huebner, 99

Mabel W. Huebner of Narrowsburg, a longtime resident of the area, died Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center, Honesdale, Pa.
The daughter of the late Harry and Mabel Whitaker Covart, she was born in Glen Spey, NY on November 13, 1911. She was 99.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Narrowsburg. She was a member of Tusten Senior Citizens Club for over 20 years, and she volunteered for the Office of Aging meals on wheels program. She was the former secretary of the Tusten Republican Club.
A family statement reads: “Mabel was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She had a full life, having lived just short of a full century. She provided a lot of military personnel, her four sons, five grandchildren, one great grandson and one great granddaughter. She was devoted to her family and instilled great values. She will be greatly missed.”
She is survived by her four sons: Robert Huebner and his wife Joan, of Monticello; Ralph Huebner and his wife Irmgard of Beach Lake, Pa.; Kenneth Huebner and his wife Carol of Deltona, Fla. and Charles Huebner and his wife Karyn of Cameron Park, Ca.; 15 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Huebner, who passed away back in 1973.
Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Glen Cove Cemetery, Narrowsburg.
