Pasquale ‘Pat’ Fiorillo
September 21, 1921 - November 25, 2010
Pat was born in NYC but lived in Santa Maria, Italy, near Naples until the age of 18. Upon returning to the U.S., Pat enlisted in the Army and served in North Africa and Europe. During World War II he was decorated for valor and combat. When Pat returned to New York, he opened his first of several succesful barber shops and beauty salons near Wall Street. Pat was a talented barber and an examiner for the NY State Beautician Licensing Board.
In 1971, Pat and Mickey purchased their weekend retreat on DeKay Lane in Livingston Manor, NY. Eventually, they left their Manhattan apartment and moved to the “Manor.” In 1990, Pat opened “Pat’s Barber Shop” in the town of Livingston Manor. He was a member of the Rotary, played golf in Roscoe on a team, had many friends. Mickey and Pat considered Livingston Manor to be their home and leaving their friends was difficult. But, fortunately, many friends were also snowbirds and visited them in Florida.
In 2000, Mickey and Pat moved to Pompano Beach and once again, Pat was cutting hair at Luigi’s Barber Shop until 2009. Pat was a fantastic barber and had a loyal following in New York and Pompano, and Delray Beach, Fla.
Pat was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2008. In December 2009, Pat and Mickey left Florida to be closer to his children and grandchildren in Huntington Beach, CA. On November 25, 2010, Pat peacefully passed away. Pat is survived by his wife Mickey, his daughter Patricia Nye, son Vincent Fiorillo, stepson Ken Baker, Bonnie Baker and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service was held on Friday, May 27, 2011 at Holy Cross Cemetery, St. Catherine’s, Section C, in Brooklyn, NY.
Donations in memory of Pat may be sent to a charity of your choice. Myra Fiorillo can be contacted at 665 Rosal Way, San Rafael, CA 94903.
