Patricia Taylor
Ret. Acct. Supervisor, Orange Cty. Social Services, 84

Patricia (Patty) Taylor, widow of John V. (Jack) Taylor and beloved sister of William J. Lane, died Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at The Bridge in Longmont, Colorado. She was 84.
The daughter of Edward J. and Anastasia J. McGuire Lane, Patty was born March 16, 1927 in Liberty.
Patty graduated from St. Joseph’s Mountain School in Forestburgh, NY, (1943), Drake Business School in NY, and worked for many years at the Sullivan County Trust Company in Monticello. Active in the Monticello Sorority and Dramatic Workshop for decades, Patty moved to Goshen in the ’60s. She retired as Account Supervisor for Orange County Social Services in Goshen in 1989, and relocated to Colorado with her children.
In addition to her brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Carol (Mapes) Lane of Monticello, Patty is survived by her five children and their spouses: Susi and Joe Juckas; Jody and Bob Jagt; Jack and Jo Ellen Taylor; Michael and Vicki Taylor, all of Colorado, and Tom Taylor of Idaho. She was a beloved grandma to seven grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and an adored “Gigi” to eight great-grandchildren. In addition, Pat is survived by two sisters-in-law, Babe (Taylor) Alford and Barbara (Taylor) Yanchitis, both of Florida. Aunt Patty will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews, and several cousins.
Patty’s two sisters and their husbands preceded her in death: Margaret and “Slim” Washington and Jean and Vinnie O’Neill, as well as her cousin Tom McNeely. Tom’s widow, Margaret McNeely, lives in NY.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway, Monticello, on Friday, October 7, from 5-8 p.m.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 8 at 10 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church, Broadway and Liberty Street in Monticello, with Fr. John Tran officiating.
Interment will follow at the St. John Street Cemetery in Monticello.

Ethel Kellam Dressel
Retired from Dressel Farm, 75

Ethel Kellam Dressel of New Paltz died Monday, September 26, 2011 at Kaplan Family Hospice Residence, in Newburgh. She was 75.
Mrs. Dressel was born June 17, 1936 in Fremont Center, the daughter of the late Harold and the late Eleanor (Ebert) Kellam. She married Roderick Dressel August 17, 1957 in Callicoon.
Ethel was retired from Dressel Farm, New Paltz in 2009. She was the Senior Elder at the Reformed Church of New Paltz, and a member of the P.E.O.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the Kaplan Hospice residence and Valley View staff for their dedicated care.
Ethel is survived by her husband, Roderick Dressel, at home; daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Jeff Crist of Walden; son and daughter-in-law, Rod and Debra Dressel, Jr. of New Paltz; Grandchildren, Jennifer, Joel, and Jedidiah Crist; Timothy, Sarah and Elizabeth Dressel; sister, Eleanor Wilcox of Roscoe; brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Patricia Kellam of Liberty; brother, Paul Kellam of Fremont Center; and many nieces and nephews.
Ethel was predeceased by her son, David Dressel.
The funeral was held Monday, October 3 at The Reformed Church of New Paltz, 92 Huguenot St., New Paltz with the Rev. Howard Major III officiating.
Burial followed in New Paltz Rural Cemetery, New Paltz.

Gertrude Katzoff
Homemaker, 87

Gertrude Katzoff of Lake Huntington, a homemaker and longtime resident of the area, died in the early morning hours on Monday, October 3, 2011 at her home. She was 87.
The daughter of the late Jacob Berger and Ida Kestenbaum Berger, Gertrude was born on July 29, 1924 in Peekskill, NY.
She is survived by her beloved children, Jan Katzoff and his wife, Lynn, of Whitefish, Montana, and Sharon Katzoff of New York, New York; her brother-in-law, Herb Katzoff and his wife, Doris, of Syracuse, NY; and three cousins, Elaine Katzoff, of Lake Huntington, Rhonda Mason of East Meredith, and Susan Sherwood of Syracuse.
The family would like to thank Juliete Lord for her untiring care of Gertrude and Solly over the past six years.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Solomon Katzoff.
Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, 388 Broadway, Monticello, NY 12701.
Burial will follow in the Jeffersonville Hebrew Cemetery, Route 52, Youngsville, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Cochecton Volunteer Ambulance Corps, P.O. Box 4, Lake Huntington, NY 12752 or to Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550.
