John A. Mullally
Ret. Operating Engineer, 95

John Aloysius Mullally passed away in Phoenix, AZ on Sunday March 25th, 2012 at 95 years of age.
Born to John and Margaret Mullally in Hoboken NJ, the family moved to Jeffersonville, NY in the early 1920’s.
He was preceded by his beloved wife of 58 yrs, Eugenia. Together they raised 4 Children; Wayne, Kevin, Mary-Margaret and Peter plus 7 grandchildren and 36 nephews and nieces.
John had a terrific sense of humor and a thousand stories of which his friends and relatives heard and enjoyed a thousand times. John worked at the 1936 World’s Fair before serving in the South Pacific during WWII. He was a Member of Operating Engineers Local 825 for over 50 years. John enjoyed spending time at “The Lake” with his 4 brothers and their children.
After retiring, John and Genie traveled to Africa, Ireland and the lower 48 States before settling in Arizona. Along with his Children, Grand-children, Nephews, Nieces and Good Friends, John is survived by his friend and companion, Grace DeMartino.
Cremation was private and a memorial celebration will be announced at a later date.

Margaret T. Hillriegel
Ret. real estate broker, 82

Margaret T. Hillriegel, of Callicoon, a retired real estate broker, and longtime area resident, died on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 in Callicoon. She was 82.
Born to the late Philip and Susan Waldman Them on May 3, 1929 in New Brunswick, New Jersey, she was married to Lester R. Hillriegel, Sr.
Marge was a 4-H leader, a member of the Dairyman’s League, a Town of Fremont Council member, former Chairman of the Upper Delaware Council, former bus driver and mail carrier and was an EMT and taught first aid for the Upper Delaware Ambulance Corps.
Survivors include her husband Lester R. Hillriegel Sr.; two sons - Philip Hillriegel and his wife, Nancy; Steven Hillriegel and his wife Joyce, all of Callicoon; two daughters - Linda Lesoing and her husband Michael of Bellingham, Wa.; Marcia Knapp and her husband Richard of North Carolina; a sister, Theresa Yanacek of Damascus, Pa.; a daughter-in-law Beverly Hillriegel of Damascus, Pa., 14 grandchildren and many great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Lester R. Hillriegel Jr. and by a brother, John Them.
Friends may call on Saturday, April 7, at the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, 34 Upper Main Street, Callicoon, from 10:30 to 12:30 p.m., and services will be held at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Damascus, Pa.
In lieu, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Orange and Sullivan, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550.
