Warren “Bud” H. Myers
Kenoza Lake, New York

Warren “Bud” H. Myers, a lifelong county resident, formerly of Jeffersonville, passed away on February 26, 2012 at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY. He was 87 years of age.
“Bud” was born in Kohlertown to Dr. Harvey W. and Hazel Miller Myers on October 11, 1924. He married Iola Schaefer Reum in 1946, and they lived in Jeffersonville until the mid 80s, when they moved to Kenoza Lake. Iola predeceased him in April 2006 after 59 years of marriage.
After completing high school in Jeffersonville in 1943, he immediately enlisted in the U.S. Navy Armed Guard and proudly served there until the end of WWII in 1946. After their marriage, Bud and Iola built their home in Kohlertown and Bud took up dairy farming. He continued in farming for many years while pursuing several occupations throughout his life.
After the war, Bud enjoyed playing basketball with the town team for many years. He also enjoyed traveling, camping, bowling, snowmobiling and golf. In his later years, Bud loved to recall “Jeff” history and tell stories to his daily morning coffee buddies. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Jeffersonville, The Jeffersonville Snowmobile Club and a Charter Member of the Russell Kenyon VFW Post #5808 of Callicoon.
Iola and Bud had three children whom survive him: Gale Myers, living in Thornton, Co., Tracey I. Hellerer and husband Art, of Jeffersonville, and Lynn W. Myers and wife, Liz,, of Sacramento, Ca. He has four grandchildren: Michele Hallenbeck (Joshua) of Broomfield, Co.; Aaron Hellerer (Amy) of Jeffersonville, Kelly Kiah (Craig) of Centennial, Co.; and Andrew Girard of Chicago, Il.; also, six great-grandchildren: Matthew, Ana, Andrew, Emily Hallenbeck, Garrin Kiah and Samantha Lea Hellerer; his sister, Lillian Loeffel of Fruit Heights, Utah and his brother-in-law, Donald Krantz, of Callicoon. He was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Bernice Krantz, and a brother-in-law, Norman Loeffel.
Memorial donations can be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Jeffersonville, Attn: Cemetery Committee, P.O. Box 685, Jeffersonville, NY 12748.
Services and internment will be at the convenience of the family.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home of Jeffersonville, N.Y.

Anne Gilbert
Former owner Gilbert Hotel

Anne Gilbert, former owner of the Town of Fallsburg's Gilbert's Hotel, passed peacefully away in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday, February 11, 2012.
Anne was survived by her loving daughters Melody Tashman and Pam Sharoff, her brother Joe Schneiderman, and her grandchildren Chance Tashman and Wynn Tashman.
Anne epitomized the best of Sullivan County's hotelkeepers, as a gracious host and, at home, was an amazing cook. She was also a loving and caring mother, grandmother and sister. She will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, her brother, his family, and her many dear friends.
Services were held graveside at the New Montefiore Cemetery in West Babylon, New York on February 15, 2012.

Marlene P. Worden
Retired Medical Secretary

Marlene P. Worden of Liberty, NY, formerly of Jeffersonville, NY, a retired medical secretary and transcriptionist for Harris Hospital, Harris, NY and a lifelong area resident, died Saturday, February 25, 2012 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was 74.
The daughter of the late Henry and Edith Schwatz Schaefer, she was born April 5, 1937.
Marlene had been a member of the Foster Grandparent Program at the Liberty Central School.
Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Grayson of Liberty, NY; one son, Danny Worden and his wife, Deborah, of Renton, WA; one brother, Dennis Schaefer and his wife, Katherine of Jeffersonville, NY; three grandchildren, Jenna, Timpone, Ryan Worden and his wife Gretchen, and James Worden; four great grandchildren, Destinie, Jasmine, Kaitlyn and Abagail; a special second mom, Helen Schaefer of Jeffersonville, NY; one niece, Linda Gray and two nephews, Erik and David Robinson.
She was predeceased by a sister, Janice Robinson and by a nephew, Stephen Litwin.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 29, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Harris Funeral Home, West Street at Buckley, Liberty, NY.
Funeral services will be Thursday, March 1, 2012 in the funeral home, please call 292-0001 for the scheduled time.
Burial will be the Methodist Cemetery, Jeffersonville, NY.
Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Orange-Sullivan Hospice, 800 Stoney Brook Ct., Newburgh, NY 12550.
