Bernard V. McAdams
Retired Carpet Installer, 79

Bernard V. McAdams of Roscoe, NY, a retired self-employed carpet installer and a lifelong area resident, passed away peacefully, Saturday, December 31, 2011 at the Roscoe Regional Rehab. & RHCF, Roscoe, NY. He was 79.
The son of the late Charles and Leila Marble McAdams, he was born April 19, 1932 at home in Acidalia, NY.
Bernard was a proud veteran of the Korean Conflict, with his service in the U.S. Army. He retired from Sarasota, Florida County Department of Transportation and settled back to his home place in Roscoe to enjoy the quiet life. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He also could make you chuckle with his quaint sayings.
Bernard is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dorothy R. Chamberlain McAdams; three step-children, Charles “Butch” Makinster and his wife Doris of Ft. Bragg, CA, Bonnie Makinster Schmitt and her husband Ricky of Roscoe, and Connie Makinster Daniels and her husband Darrell of Puryear, TN; two brothers, Grant McAdams and Luke McAdams, both of Roscoe; one sister, Velma, of El Paso, TX; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers Charlie, Clarence, Arnold, Lawrence and his sisters Loretta, Minnie, Lenora and Ethel.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Harris Funeral Home in Roscoe. The Rev. David Collins officiated. Burial was made in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Elmira, NY.

Lorraine R. Quinlan
January 21, 1938 - January 1, 2012

Lorraine R. Quinlan, a longtime resident of White Lake, NY, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2012 at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ. She was 73.
The daughter of the late George and Mary Kuziora Laszig, she was born on January 21, 1938 in Passaic, NJ.
Survivors include sons, Joseph Quinlan and wife Sadie of Oakland, NJ and Patrick Quinlan and wife Sandy of Smallwood, NY; daughter, Susan Stagg and husband William of Vernon, NJ; brother, Edward Laszig and wife Dale of Honesdale, PA; sister, Joan Goral and husband Richard of Wallington, NJ; and five grandchildren, James Berrier, Lorraine Stagg-Scherr, Owen Quinlan, Kevin Quinlan and Joseph Quinlan.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph E. Quinlan, and a sister, Genevieve Kantz.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 6 at Ramsay’s Funeral Home, 3534 Rt 55, Kauneonga Lake, NY 12749.
Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory, Middle Hope, NY.
