Steven Michael Ross
June 10, 1959 - June 12, 2012
Steven Ross of Liberty, NY, passed away June 12, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie, surrounded by his loving family. Steven succumbed to injuries sustained on April 20, 2012, when he hit a deer while riding his motorcycle. He leaves behind a grieving family and many stunned and mourning friends. He was 53.
Steven is the son of Joel and Joan Ross of Liberty.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Micky; daughter Nicole of Liberty; son Joshua and wife Sinta of Manhattan Beach, California; brother Kenneth and his wife Tracy, daughter Esti of Liberty, and daughter Alli of New York City; brother Eric, daughter Caelian, and son Aden, of Boynton Beach, Florida; grandmother Rose Ross of Margate, Florida; his aunt Harriet and uncle Warren Henner of Greensboro, Georgia; his aunt Gayle Friedman of Oyster Bay, New York; and aunt Carol and uncle Jerry Koenig of Margate, Florida. He was predeceased by his grandparents Louis and Ester Melnikoff, and his grandfather Harry Ross. He is also survived by numerous cousins and their families.
He was born in Maimonides Hospital, Liberty, NY, on June 10, 1959. He graduated Liberty High School, and attended Delhi College, and became an integral part of his father Joel’s and his brother Ken’s business, Ross Electric Company in Ferndale, New York.
Steve was an avid hunter and fisherman. His love of the sports lured him out west, and as far North as Canada. His many trophies are a testament to his enthusiasm and skill. His love of the outdoors included snowmobiling, boating and motorcycling.
The pride of life was his family; his German shepherds, Lila and Hunter; his home, and the magnificent grounds he created.
His quiet mannerism, quick-wit, sense of humor, patience, understanding and extreme generosity will be missed forever, but never forgotten. He will always be remembered as a loving son, brother, husband, father and good friend.
Funeral Services will be on Friday, June 15, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Congregation Ahavath Israel Synagogue, Liberty, NY. Burial will be in the Ahavath Israel Synagogue Cemetery on Hy-San-Na Rd, Liberty, NY.

Siegfried Walter Ihrig
Retired Union Laborer, 82
Siegfried Walter Ihrig of Callicoon, a retired Union Laborer for Local 17 Monticello, died Thursday, June 14 at CRMC, Harris, New York. He was 82.
Son of the late John and Marie Glock Ihrig, he was born on April 23, 1930 in Jersey City, New Jersey. Siegfried was the husband of Melanie Mangano Ihrig.
Siegfried was a US Army Veterans, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) a member of the Callicoon and Jeffersonville Senior Citizens, and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Jeffersonville.
He is surved by his wife, Melanie Mangano Ihrig, his brother Karl Ihrig and by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Lieslotte Nystrom.
There will be no visitation.

Nora Stewart, 83

Nora Stewart of Beach Lake, Pa., died Wednesday morning June 13, 2012 at the Special Care Hospital in Scranton, Pa.
The daughter of the late Bruce John and Ella Flora Morton Moore, she was born in Hasbrouck, NY, on October 6, 1928.
Nora was an avid genealogist, successfuly tracing her roots back into the 1700s. She also enjoyed knitting, making many items as gifts for friends and family and also for many others, as donations to charities and presents to “the troops defending our country.” She was always quick to give someone a helping hand.
She was the widow of Jay Stewart, to whom she was married on April 5, 1947, in White Sulphur Springs.
Surivivors include her son, Frederick J. Stewart of Stratham, N.Y.; daughter, Lorraine Lee Davis of Beach Lake, Pa.; grandsons Timothy J. Adase and Christopher A. Adase, both of College Station, Texas; sister, Agnes Ruth Kortright and her husband Clifford of Aden, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband in 2004; a daughter, Linda Diane Adase in 1990; son-in-law Thomas Davis in 1999; sisters, Helen Hartman and Janet Smith; and brother Fred Allen Moore.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 10 a.m. in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Narrowsburg.
Internment of her cremains will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Narrowsburg.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, the Tusten Historical Society, or to the Narrowsburg, Beach Lake or Welcome Lake Fire Departments.
