Mildred Kravitz, 88
July 17, 1923 – June 25, 2012

Mildred Kravitz, a longtime resident of Monticello, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 25, 2012 at Catskill Regional Medical Center. She was 88.
The daughter of the late Ernest Jacobs and Regina Arenstein Jacobs, she was born July 17, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY.
Mildred was a very generous person, having donated her time to many organizations. She was a volunteer at CRMC, Skilled Nursing Unit, as well as numerous other health organizations. She was also a gifted piano player. Mildred was one of the kindest, sweetest and most good-natured people that you could ever meet.
She is survived by her sister, Joyce Slayton and her husband, Joseph; daughter-in-law, Lynn Kravitz; granddaughter, Barbara, and her husband, Greg; and great-grandson, Mark.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at the Temple Shalom Cemetery, South Woods Drive, Monticello, NY.

Gladys E. Stephenson
Homemaker, 82

Gladys E. Stephenson of Kenoza Lake, NY, a homemaker and lifetime resident of the area, died Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Roscoe Community Nursing Home in Roscoe, NY. She was 82.
The daughter of Jacob and Christina Heibt Wilfert, she was born May 13, 1930 in Jeffersonville, NY. She was the widow of Harry H. Stephenson.
She was a member of the Kenoza Lake United Methodist Church and the Bethel Lites Ladies Group.
She is survived by her children, Marion Lair and her husband Jerry of Roscoe, NY; Paul Stephenson and his wife, Ann C., of Liberty, NY; and Harry Keith Stephenson of New York City, NY; four grandchildren, Stacey Ballbirer of Maryland, Joseph Brewer of Liberty, Elizabeth Stephenson of Liberty, and Michael Stephenson of Chesapeake, Va.; four great-grandchildren, Kristyn Brewer, Joseph Brewer Jr., Kaelyn Ballbirer and Ryan Ballbirer; and a sister, Marguerite Brown.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Ed Wilfert and Sidney Wilfert.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 29 at the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, Jeffersonville. Pastor David Collins will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Activities Dept. at Roscoe Community Nursing Home, 420 Rockland Road, Roscoe, NY 12776.
Burial will be made in Kenoza Lake Cemetery, Kenoza Lake, NY.

Stacy Ostrander Abbott
Medical Office Manager, 35

Stacy Ostrander Abbott, age 35, of Port St. Lucie, FL, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam, NY.
She was born January 20, 1977 in Liberty, NY, the daughter of Robert Berger and the late Barbara Ostrander.
Stacy grew up in Liberty and Youngsville, NY, and later graduated high school in Port St. Lucie, FL. She worked as a medical office manager.
Stacy is survived by her husband, Robert Abbott; her children, Mackenzie Abbott, (10), and Ty Abbott, (6); the many mother figures in her life; six sisters and four brothers.
Stacy always had a smile and such a caring, warm heart. Her spirit was amazing and she was loved by so many.
The celebration of Stacy's life will be held at Mullally's Pub in Jeffersonville, NY, on Friday, June 29, 2012 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Palm City, Florida on Saturday, July 7, 2012.
