Audrey Stienstra
Jeffersonville resident, 82
Audrey Stienstra, 82, of Jeffersonville, NY entered into rest on Tuesday, February 28, 2012, at Roscoe Nursing Home, surrounded by her family. Audrey was born on June 21, 1929 in Monsey, N.Y. to the late Alice and James Hamilton Scott. She grew up and was an active member of The Monsey Christian Reformed Church, where she met and married Jacob (Jack) Stienstra on October 22, 1954. They shared a lifetime of memories with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren during their 57 years of marriage.
Survivors include her husband Jacob “Jack” Stienstra, at home; her son, Gregory Stienstra of Pine Bush and her former daughter-in-law, Barbara Stienstra; three daughters and sons-in-law Cheryl and Jim Bowers of Roscoe, Diane and David Staves of Jeffersonville, Lori and John Kimmes of White Sulphur Springs; her grandchildren: James Bowers Jr. and his wife Margaret, Shanon Feeney and her husband Gregory, Joshua and Evan Staves, Jaclyn and Jessica Kimmes; great-grandchildren Hailey, Hayden and Mason Bowers, Carter and Hunter Feeney. She was predeceased by a sister, Marilyn Dykstra.
Audrey was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Audrey was a devoted Christian who saw the good in all people, gave freely of herself, and loved her family and church. She was an active member of The Liberty Free Methodist Church, The Jeffersonville Presbyterian Ladies Association, and AGLOW.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Gina Grimm, who was a devoted friend to Audrey during the past several years, and to the staff of Roscoe Nursing Home, for their kindness and devoted care.
Friends may call on Friday, March 2, at Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home in Jeffersonville, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held on Saturday, March 3, at the funeral home, at 1:30 p.m. Pastor Richard Devendorf will conduct the service.
Burial will be in Callicoon Center Cemetery in Callicoon Center, N.Y.

Arthur Frank
Jeffersonville resident, 85
Arthur Frank, of Jeffersonville, NY passed away on Monday, February 27, 2012.
Arthur was born February 20, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Barney and Beatrice Frank.
He spoke often of growing up in Brooklyn, riding the trolley cars, and going to the boardwalk with his father. As a young man, he raised homing pigeons. He graduated from Brooklyn Technical School, majoring in radio technology.
He was very proud of serving in the United States Army. He served from May 1945 to January 1947. He was part of the occupation forces serving in Trieste, Italy. He was wounded in Trieste during an uprising in 1946.
He worked many years with the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier in Liberty, NY, and then as a civil service employee at Woodbourne Correctional Facility.
He was married to Virginia Puerschner Frank, who predeceased him in 2004. They shared many interests their pets, hunting and camping.
He was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Jeffersonville and a lifetime member of the NRA.
Arthur is survived by his beloved sister, Elayne Zwiegel of Hallandale Beach, Fl., his treasured niece, Monica Fowler and her companion, Max Nickerson of Gainsville, Fl. He is further survived by his step-children: Thomas Puerschner (Judy), Robert Puerschner (Sharon) of Jeffersonville, NY and Patricia DePasquale (Frank) of San Antonio, Tx.; 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Friends may call on Saturday, March 3, from 10 to 11 a.m., at the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, Jeffersonville. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial with Military Honors will be made in the Jeffersonville Lutheran Cemetery.

Dorothy L. Batchelor, 89
December 23, 1922 - February 25, 2012
Dorothy L. Batchelor of Narrowsburg, NY, a lifelong resident, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Wayne Woodlands Manor, Waymart, Pa. She was 89.
The daughter of the late Louis and Lillian Roberts Buddenhagen, she was born December 23, 1922 in Beaver Brook, NY.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Narrowsburg, NY.
A family statement reads, “Dorothy was a loving and caring, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She took great pride in her family, and was a big part of our lives. The family celebrated 5 generations. She will truly be missed and will always be in our hearts.”
She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Nuttycombe and her husband Tom of Narrowsburg; two grandsons, Brett Bodine of Jacksonville, N.C., Rod Bodine of Honesdale, PA; four greatgrandchildren, Ashley Castano and her husband Alex, Austin Bodine, Kayla Bodine and Raeanna Bodine, her great-great-grandson Jayden Castano, her sister Ethel Royael and her husband Bud of Dunedin, FL and several nephews.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Thomas H. Batchelor, who had passed a away on August 2, 2007.
A graveside service will be held Friday, March 2 at 11:00 a.m. at Glen Cove Cemetery, Narrowsburg. Pastor Phyllis Haynes will conduct services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tusten Volunteer Ambulance Corps, PO Box 34, Narrowsburg.

Donald E. Fredenburg
Former Villa Roma employee, 60
Donald E. Fredenburg, 60, of North Branch, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown, N.Y.
A longtime employee of the Villa Roma Resort Hotel, he is survived by his wife, Gail; his children; numerous siblings; extended family members and friends.
There will be no formal services, but a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

Norma Adele Morgan
Retired hospital employee, 84
Norma Adele Morgan, of Moundsville, W.V., died Thursday, March 1, 2012 in Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, W.V. She was 84.
She was born September 12, 1927, in New York, a daughter of the late Philip and Adele Knack.
Mrs. Morgan was a retired employee of Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale, W.V., and a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Moundsville.
Surviving are a son, Carl W. Ernest of Moundsville; a daughter, Joann (Wayne) McClintock of Moundsville; a brother, Carl Knack of South Carolina; a sister, Arleta Buehl of New York; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Ave., Moundsville, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 5, 2012.
