Sharon E. Manzi
August 19, 1944 - November 3, 2012
Sharon Manzi, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away after a courageous battle with lung cancer on Saturday, November 3, 2012. She was 68.
Sharon was a gentle and elegant woman, with a sweet demeanor and an inner strength that shined through her final days. Her friends and family knew her as a very talented cook, who had an uncanny ability to replicate almost any dish without a recipe. She loved to host and entertain and frequently had parties at her home in Mongaup Valley, N.Y.
Sharon enjoyed traveling and visited many National Parks, vineyards and seashores throughout the Northeast. She adored animals, loved her pets Tippy, Max and Jinx and frequently adopted cats that found their way into her home over the years. Most of all, Sharon cherished the time she spent with her loved ones, and selflessly demonstrated her love for friends and family through her actions, more so than she did through her words. She will be greatly missed and remembered by those whose lives she touched.
Sharon was a life-long resident of the area. She was born in Middletown, on August 19, 1944. In 1963, Sharon married John Manzi, Monticello Raceway’s Public Relations Director, and they continued their life together for almost 50 years.
Here to hold her forever in their hearts are her loving daughters, Michelle Miller and husband Scott Miller of Hidden Hills, CA and Tracey Manzi and husband Tim McNamara of Boston, MA, and her adoring granddaughters, Elizabeth Kim and Fiona McNamara.
Sharon was the daughter of the late Albert and Minnie Bronner. She is survived by Lana Sue Stickney, Gerald Bronner and several nieces and nephews. Her brother, Donald Bronner, predeceased her.
Visitation hours are from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, November 7th at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 3534 State Rt 55, Kauneonga Lake, N.Y. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter's Church in Monticello on Thursday, November 8th at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery (located off Route 17B) in Bethel N.Y.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sharon’s memory to the Goshen Historic Track, 44 Park Place, Goshen, N.Y. 10924.
