Edith Kohler Mullen, 97
February 2, 1916 - March 3, 2013

Edith Kohler Mullen, 97, of Highland, New York, passed away on March 3, 2013.
The funeral service will be announced at a later date. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Sutton Funeral Home in Highland.
Edith was born in Jeffersonville, New York on February 2, 1916. She graduated from Jeffersonville Central School. In September of 1942, Edith married Albert A. Mullen in Glendale, New York; they were married 70 years.
Edith lived and worked in New York City until she married. She was an expert seamstress, loved to swim and was an avid world wide hiker. Edith was a long time member of PEO, Chapter A, Highland and was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Highland.
Edith is survived by her husband, Albert, of Highland, NY; daughter, Jane Mullen Hodi of Vác, Hungary; daughter-in-law Patricia A. Mullen of Highland, NY; four grandchildren, Deborah Mullen Rudner of Stanfordville, NY; David A. Mullen of Clintondale, NY; Anna Hodi Tassi and Kata Hodi Vegh, both of Budapest, Hungary; nieces, Susan and Nancy Kohler of Youngsville, NY; Kay Wormuth of Santa Cruz, CA; and three great grandchildren.
Edith is preceded in death by her parents, Edward F. and Ida Mapledoram Kohler; her son, Albert E. Mullen; brother, Earl Kohler; and sister, Dorothy Kohler Wormuth.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Presbyterian Church in Highland, NY, or the World Wildlife Fund, one of Edith's favorite charities.
The family of Edith wishes to thank all her friends and relatives for helping during this difficult time and a special thank you to Wendy Constant and her daughter, Tabitha.

Floyd N. Franke, PhD
Retired Educator, 72

Floyd N. Franke, PhD, of Roscoe, NY, a retired educator and a long time area resident, died Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at the Roscoe Regional Rehabilitation and Residential Health Care Facility, Roscoe, NY. He was 72.
The son of the late Marvin L. and Eva E. Graham Franke, he was born September 22, 1940 in Hydetown, PA.
Floyd had served on the Titusville Hospital Board of Directors, was a former member of the Crawford County Mental Health-Mental Retardation Board, a member and past president of the Pleasantville Lions Club, a member and past president of the Roscoe Kiwanis Club, co-founder of the Catskill Fly Tyers Guild, a member and past board member of the Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum, president of the Casting Board of Governors of the International Federation of Fly Fishers – 5 years, an instructor at the Wulff School of Fly Fishing 1989-2006, Chief Instructor for three years.
Survivors include his wife, Alberta Tyler Franke, at home; his twin sister, Florence Maxin and her husband Francis of Pittsburgh, PA; one brother, Burtis Franke and his wife Margaret of Titusville, PA; sister-in-law, Susan Franke; two adult God children, David E. Crawford and Cynthia Arnold; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son, Floyd Franke, Jr.; and one brother, Marvin L. Franke.
Memorial services will be in the Spring.

Judith Ann Kleinert of White Lake, NY, passed away on March 1, 2013. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Luke’s Church, Rt. 590, Greeley, PA 18425 on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at 1 p.m. with the Rev.
