Paul Francis Yonchik Sr.
Retired Master Carpenter, 90

The Family of Paul Francis Yonchik Sr. of Hortonville, NY, announces his passing into eternal life on April 3, 2013. He was 90.
He was born on October 27, 1922 in Hurleyville, New York to Ukrainian immigrants Philip and Anna (Anastacia) Luty Yonchik.
He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Norma Wright Yonchik; his son, Paul Yonchik Jr.; a brother, John, and a sister, Mary.
A Master Carpenter by trade, he was a member of the Hudson Valley Carpenters Union #19.
Paul served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II, and in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was an active member of Holy Cross Church in Callicoon, the Knights of Columbus Council 4478, the Catskill Detachment #652 of the Marine Corps League, VFW H.Russell Kenyon Post #5808 and the Hortonville Volunteer Fire Department.
Paul is survived by a brother, Peter Yonchik of Davenport, FL; a daughter, Zoeanne Deckelman and her husband, Charles, of Fremont Center, NY; his grandchildren, Sandra Deckelman of Liberty, NY, and William Deckelman of Obernburg, NY; greatgrandchildren, Michael and Jacob Feigenbutz, Ryan Davis, and Monika Deckelman; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Church Street Long Eddy, NY at noon. The Reverend Charles O’Connor will officiate.
Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
