Retired Manager, 84
Dorothy R. Ropke of Narrowsburg, NY, a retired manager, died Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Bethany Village Care Center in Honesdale, Pa. She was 84.
The daughter of George and Johanna Helms Schorck, she was born April 3, 1929 in Jersey City, NJ. She was married to the late Herman Ropke.
Dorothy was a retired manager at Kelly’s Adult Home in Narrowsburg, and also a manager at Lander’s Minisink Campground. She also worked as a switchboard operator at one time. Dorothy was very active in her community, as a hospice volunteer, a member of the Tusten Ambulance Corps, and a Red Cross volunteer. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the Tusten Historical Society.
She is survived by three daughters, Dianne Robertson of Bloomington, IN, Nancy Rome and her husband, Dennis, of Prairieville, LA, and Carol Ropke Wingert of Narrowsburg; 12 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was also predeceased by her son, Kenneth Ropke.
There are no calling hours.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 8, 2013 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Narrowsburg.
Burial of the cremains will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery, Narrowsburg, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Tusten Ambulance Corps or Hospice of the Sacred Heart.

Retired School Bus Monitor, 64
Lillian A. Porter of Liberty, NY, left this life Friday, June 28, 2013, at home, in the loving company of her daughters: Amanda Cruz-Flores, Shellie Porter, Patricia Lewis, and granddaughter, Amber Decker. She was 64.
The daughter of the late Irving L. Dunn Sr. and Emma B. Yaple Dunn, Lillian was born November 25, 1948 in Middletown, NY.
In 2010 she retired from being a school bus monitor, after more than 20 years of employment with the Monticello School District Transportation Company.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edwin D. Porter; her brother, Irving L. Dunn Jr.; and sister, Esther Dunn.
Lillian leaves behind three daughters: Patricia Lewis and her husband, George, of South Fallsburg, NY, Amanda Cruz-Flores and her husband, Joseph, of South Fallsburg, and Shellie Porter of Liberty, NY; two sons: Lewis Kleingardner Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Mountaindale, NY, and John Cooper Jr. of Malone, NY; one step-son, William Bivins and his wife, Edna, of Saugerties, NY; one sister, Betty Kellogg and her husband, Raymond of Lake Ariel, PA; three brothers: Richard Dunn Sr. and his wife, Catherine, of Summerfield, FL, William J. Dunn and his wife, Carol Ann, of Summerfield, FL, and Ross Dunn Sr. and his wife, Sylvia, of White Sulphur Springs, NY; one uncle, Jay Yaple of Westfield, MA; 18 grandchildren: Ashley L. Decker and her fiance, Thomas McCormick, of Manchester, TN, Amber L. Decker of Loch Sheldrake, NY, Michelle J. Decker and her companion, Harry Francis Sr., of South Fallsburg, Brianne MacPherson of South Fallsburg, Michael Stickle of Woodbourne, NY, Jaimie Sklar and her husband, Brandon, of Napanoch, NY, Casie Kleingardner and her companion, Michael Lorino, of Mountaindale, Courtney Kleingardner of Mountaindale, Steven Whitman of South Fallsburg, BrandonLee Burt of South Fallsburg, Cole VanDunk of Liberty, Nevaeh Touhey of Liberty, Alissa DeGraw of Loch Sheldrake, Julie DeGraw of Loch Sheldrake, and Briana Bivins, Nichole Bivins, Zachary Bivins, and Cody Bivins, all of Saugerties, NY. Lillian was also blessed with 10 great-grandchildren: Anthony Fidecaro, Areighanna Gravley, Jessica Gravley, Dakota Gravley, Savannah Stickle, Caydence McGuire, Harry Francis Jr., Kaylin Sklar, Emmett Kleingardner, and Alana Lorino.
Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
Donations may be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, Inc. or to a charity of one’s choice.
