Three arrested for illegal hunting

SULLIVAN COUNTY — November 23, 2010 — On Oct. 30 while patrolling the Town of Fallsburg, New York State Environmental Conservation Police Officer R. Wood discovered a vehicle parked near a camp with empty bags of corn in the bed.
Officer Wood conducted a foot patrol following fresh ATV tracks. He located four subjects bow hunting with three over a bait area of corn and salt blocks, with two of the three subjects in possession of loaded handguns, which is prohibited while bow hunting.
Tickets were issued to:
Vicenzo Nardon, 41, Virginia Lane, Thornwood, for Hunting with the aid of a pre-established bait pile (a violation with a fine up to $250) and Possession of a firearm (handgun) while bowhunting during a special archery season (a misdemeanor with a fine from $300 to $1,000).
Frank Morle, 52, Theresa Court, Carmel, for Hunting with bait and possession of a firearm while bowhunting.
Louis Rizzi Jr., 34, Mountain Road, Hopewell Junction, for Hunting with the aid of a pre-established bait pile.
All tickets were returnable to Town of Fallsburg court yesterday.
