Scholastic hoops season set to begin

CALLICOON — November 30, 2010 — The 2010-2011 scholastic basketball season is finally here.
After completing three weeks of practices, boys’ and girls’ hoops teams from Sullivan County high schools are ready to take the court. Some teams will tip off the new season this week, while others will start the new campaign next week.
Some of those basketball games which will be played here in Sullivan County are as follows:
At 6:30 p.m. tomorrow night, the Roscoe Blue Devils will host Section IV’s Margaretville in a non-league game.
Also on tomorrow night’s schedule is a non-league game between Valley Central and the host Eldred Lady Yellowjackets. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m.
On Friday night, the Sullivan West Bulldogs will play host to Ellenville in a non-league game. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The Bulldogs will be back in action at 7 p.m. next Tuesday, Dec. 7, when they travel to Livingston Manor for a non-league game. The contest will be the season-opener for the Manor Wildcats.
At 6:30 p.m. the following night, Wednesday, Dec. 8, the Manor Lady Wildcats and Fallsburg Lady Comets will start their respective seasons when they meet in a non-league game at Fallsburg Central School.
Also on Dec. 8, the Liberty Lady Indians will visit the Monticello Lady Panthers in a non-league game slated to start at 5:30 p.m.
The Liberty Indians will open their season on Thursday, Dec. 9 by hosting Goshen in a non-league game. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
