LIVINGSTON MANOR By sending more than double the number of shots toward the goal than their opponent, the Liberty Lady Indians earned a non-league soccer victory on Friday afternoon.
Liberty outshot the host Livingston Manor Lady Wildcats by a 17-8 margin to register a 3-1 win.
Jessica Dunnigan, Maria Lourdes Romero and Selena Vargas each scored a goal for Liberty, which improved its overall record to 6-2-2 on the season.
Dunnigan scored off an assist by Paulina Kleinberger. The goals by Romero and Vargas were unassisted.
Christine Babich scored the only goal for Manor (7-4-1) in the first half thanks to an assist from Marissa Diescher.
“We just made some mistakes,” Manor Coach Shirlee Davis said. “Liberty played hard and deserved to win.”
Manor senior goalkeeper Angela Trotti had 10 saves. Liberty senior goalie Taylir Lorino made eight saves.
“I am very proud of my team,” Liberty Coach Anne Ramos said. “They backed each other up and we were on the attack most of the game. Their teamwork has improved since the beginning of the season.
“Manor is a tough team,” Ramos added.
