BRIDGEVILLE — February 2, 2007 — Due to this winter’s limited snowfall and relatively warm temperatures, local high school skiers have not had many chances to hit the slopes.
But a cold snap allowed area ski resorts to make snow and open more slopes.
The cold weather also enabled the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association (OCIAA) to hold two slalom races at Holiday Mountain Ski and Fun Park in Bridgeville.
In Wednesday’s race, Onteora won the team competition in both the boys’ and girls’ divisions. The Onteora boys won with a combined time of 2 minutes, 4.44 seconds, while the Onteora girls prevailed in 2:14.88.
