SW triumphs over rain, Roscoe

ROSCOE — The match was shortened to five holes by rain showers, but the Sullivan West boys’ golf team earned another Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association (OCIAA) Division IV win on Friday afternoon.
The Bulldogs topped the host Roscoe Blue Devils, 107-149, at Twin Village Golf Course.
With the victory, SW improved its record to 10-2 overall and 6-0 in Division IV. Roscoe fell to 0-8 overall and 0-8 in Division IV.
Kevin Correa led the Bulldogs with a 20, while Mike Hahn had a 21.
Jamie Davis, Artie Norden and Steve Smith all recorded a 22 for SW.
A sixth SW golfer, Cody Keesler, carded a 32.
Dave Lake paced the Blue Devils with a 22.
Mike Failla and Harry Muller both registered a 30, while Damien McDoal had a 32 and Seth Wegener shot a 35.
The OCIAA Division IV match was the second in as many days for both the Bulldogs and Blue Devils.
On Thursday afternoon, SW defeated Eldred, 220-265, in a Division IV match on the par-36 front nine of the Swan Lake Golf Club.
Justin Armstrong shot a 39 for the Bulldogs, while Norden had a 41, Correa registered a 43, Mike Hahn shot a 48 and Melanie Kleiner carded a 49.
The top five golfers for Eldred were Jason Jennings (46), Andy Bosch (47), Jon Geiger (52), Pat Kerr (56) and Keith Hallock (64).
Also on Thursday afternoon, Tri-Valley topped Roscoe, 212-233, at the par-32 Twin Village course.
Leading T-V (13-2, 8-0 Division IV) to victory were brothers John Bernstein and Jimmy Bernstein, who each recorded a 38.
Rounding out the top five for the Bears were John Benevides (41), Patty Singh (46) and Jamie McLain (49).
Lake led the Blue Devils with a 38, while Dylan Bowers shot a 39.
Failla had a 50, while McDoal and Muller each recorded a 53.
