TOWN OF THOMPSON — June 8, 2007 — The Liberty United Lady Red Devils Under-16 soccer team displayed some offensive firepower and excellent defense in its East Hudson Youth Soccer League match on Sunday afternoon at the Town of Thompson Park.
As a result, Liberty United defeated the East Fishkill Demonz, 5-0.
Jessica Stant paced the Lady Red Devils’ offense by scoring three times to record a hat trick.
She tallied the first of those goals midway through the opening half to give her team a lead it would not relinquish the rest of the match.
Jessica Stant also tallied the final goal of the day on an assist from Karyn Sheeley in the final 10 minutes of the contest.
Krys Stant, who co-coaches the Lady Red Devils with Sue Sheeley, noted that goalie Ellen Williams “played awesome.”
Williams made several good saves in the contest.
Coaches Stant and Sheeley were both pleased with the way their team worked together to record the victory.
“They all played very well today,” Stant said.
