The Sullivan County Long Beards will be hosting its Big Free Jake Event for children 1-17 in age at Roscoe Fireman’s Park on September 22 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Those planning on attending must register by 12:30 p.m. Pre-registration is available by e-mailing frannyd@gmail.com.
The day’s activities include .410 shotgun and pellet gun shoot, laser shoot, archery, snake exhibit and show, D/U dog demo, birdhouse building. raptors, trappers and taxidermy demos.
There will also be an appearance by trick shooting television personality Scott Matthews.
Free hot dogs, drinks and snacks are available for all children.
A free raffle for 40 plus beeman Air rifles with scopes will be held for all Jakes members.
Children must be accompanied by an adult. No dogs allowed.
Pheasant Hunt Essay
Twenty Xtreme JAKES will be chosen for the annual Pheasant Hunt to be held on October 13th, 2012 from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Catskill Pheasantry Preserve in Long Eddy
The day includes free lunch, skeet shooting and two bird hunt per member.
In order to participate:
• You must be JAKES member 12-17yrs of age.**
• Must have completed a hunter education course. (No hunting license required.)
• Must submit a 100200 word composition entitled “Why I should be chosen for this Pheasant Hunt” to be postmarked by September 10.
• Must bring own gun and ammo.
All applications must be received by September 10 and sent to: Hank D’Auria, Event Chairman, 159 Forest Drive, Livingston Manor, NY 12758. Please include name, address, phone and email information with composition. Winners will be notified by September 30, 2012.
If you are not a current member, a $10 membership fee may also be sent payable to the NWTF along with the essay.
