LOCH SHELDRAKE – SUNY Sullivan outfielder Jossue Delgado was named a NJCAA Division II Third Team All-American – the first General baseball player to be honored as an All-American.
Jossue gave SUNY Sullivan two terrific seasons. In 2012, he hit .357 with 14 doubles, three triples, and eight homers, while also scoring 67 runs and driving in 42. He was 56-for-61 in stolen base attempts.
Over his 88 games for the Generals in 2011 and 2012, Delgado batted .367, hit 29 doubles, seven triples and eight homers, scored 103 runs and drove in 73. He stole 83 bases at a success rate of 93 percent.
In his two seasons with SUNY Sullivan, Delgado earned honors including Region XV Player of the Week, Region XV All-Star, 2012 Region XV Co-Player of the Year and Region XV All-Tournament team. He was also named a SUNY Sullivan Athlete of the Year for the 2011-2012 academic year.
A native of Barinas, Venezuela, Delgado majored in Sports Management at SUNY Sullivan. He will be attending NCAA Division II Ohio Dominican University in the fall on a full baseball scholarship while pursuing a degree in Business.
