BOYS’ CROSS COUNTRY
Coach: Joe Iatauro
Season Highlights: New York State scholar athlete team; 2nd at Burnt Hills Invitational; ranked for three weeks in New York State Class C; Top 10 in all Invitationals entered; Justin Weintraub placing 3rd at the MT SAC Inv California.
Top Performers: Justin Weintraub, Hauk Boyes, Ian Kurzrock, and Aidan Woolsey
Coach’s comments: “Our entire top seven back next year.”
BOYS’ SOCCER
Coach: Jason Closs
Record: 1 -15, 0-8 league
Season Highlights: “Senior Dan Short helped our younger guys improve on and off the field. As the season went on, we got some really strong play from these younger players. Nathan Bender, for one, played well for us in goal. His play in goal kept us in a lot of our games and gave us a chance to win. Zach Nilsen was strong for us in the mid-field. He is a competitor and as he is surrounded with other players through the mid-field, he should become a more consistent distributor and goal scorer.”

Coach’s Comment: "We were very young this year, but we got some strong leadership from seniors, so I look forward to those younger players performing even better next year."
FOOTBALL
Coach: John Rusin
Record: 4-5; 2-2 league
Season Highlights: rushed for more than 2,300 yarrds as a team; Brendan Tierney and Cody Exner averaged around nine yards per carry; Aric Boyes finished the season with six sacks and was named to the all Section IX team.
Top Performers: Aric Boyes, Brendan Tierney, Cody Exner, and Shatik Smith.
Coach’s Comment: “We didn’t have one player with an ego or behavioral issue. They all worked hard day in and day out, and I’m very proud of the way we played. Our seniors did an especially nice job.”
GIRLS’ CROSS COUNTRY
Coach: Missy Iatauro
Season Highlights: New York State scholar athlete team; qualifying for state meet (as a team) at Elma Meadows; winning Section IX; 6th at OCIAA Championship; 3rd at Burnt Hills; first at MT SAC (California)for second year in row; winning OCIAA Division with perfect score plus one; Autumn Bender finishing 14th in New York State Championship.
Top Performers: Autumn Bender, Sabrena Smith, Ali Reynolds, Britanny Pennell, and Brooke Gillette.
Coach’s Comments: “Having the entire top six back next year.”
GIRLS’ SOCCER
Coach: Mary Feusner
Record: 5-7-3; 2-5-1 (league)
Season Highlights: Three ties in one week vs. Burke (4-4), Tuxedo (3-3) and Eldred (0-0); 1-0 first-half score with S.S. Seward “best defense of the season;” qualified for the NYSPHSAA Scholastic Award with a team of 12 players averaging 91.56 GPA; five shutouts on the year; Coach Feusner’s 600th match on September 5.
Top Performers: MVP Offense: Mareena DiMilia, senior striker 8 goals, 9 assists this season; No. 12 all-time scorer at Tri-Valley with 34 career goals and 15 career assists.
MVP Defense: Caroline Martin, sophomore sweeper
MIP: Sara Dertinger, sophomore stopper
Coach’s Award: Vicky Tingley, senior midfielder
Section 9 Coaches Select Team: Vicky Tingley and Caroline Martin
Coach’s Comment: “We became a close-knit team with the experienced players fostering the play of the newcomers.
This season we played in some of the most adverse conditions I have ever experienced in 35 seasons of varsity soccer! We had pouring rains and muddy, water-logged fields in October.”
