Liberty blanks Monticello in Quickway clash

FALLSBURG — September 13, 2013 — The Liberty boys’ soccer team picked up their second win of the season after defeating Monticello on Wednesday 5-0.
Liberty (2-0) scored three goals during the first half and two in the second half. The first quarter goals were scored by Brendan Siegel with the assist from Berney Luna; Danny Diaz with the assist from Siegel and Luna with the assist from Fredy Leal. The second half goals were scored by Gustavo Romero with the assist from Manuel Ramirez and Leal with the assist from Stephen Clark.
The exhausted Monticello team played the whole game with 10 players. Goalie Anthony Lombardi had 15 saves.
Liberty plays its first league game against Burke Catholic next Tuesday, September 17.
