Maurice W. Early
Retired Construction Worker, 84

Maurice W. Early of East Branch, NY, a retired construction worker for Pipelines, New Hartford, NY, and a lifelong area resident, died Monday, November 11, 2013 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY. He was 84.
The son of the late Leroy and Lena Mudge Early, he was born February 27, 1929 in East Branch, NY.
Maurice was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons Lodge # 552 of Hancock, NY.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen Cox Early, at home; four sons, M. Daniel and Susan Early of Downsville, NY, Shawn and Cindi Early of East Branch, NY, Peter and Debbie Early of East Branch, NY, and David Fisk and Pamela Rourke of Swan Lake, NY; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one brother, Loren Early.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 2 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, Railroad Ave. Roscoe, NY. The Rev. Dale Ashby will officiate.
Burial will be in the East Branch Cemetery, East Branch, NY.

Sheldon Seymour Ackerman
June 8, 1926-Nov 10, 2013

Sheldon Ackerman of Monticello, the retired owner and operator of Spiral Screw Corp of Brooklyn, NY and longtime area resident, died on Sunday, November 10, 2013 in Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY. He was 87.
Sheldon was a World War II Army Veteran, born in Washington Heights, NY on June 8, 1926 the son of Benjamin and Norma Blackman Ackerman.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Audrey, at home in Monticello; his two daughters, Sheryl Ackerman of Florida and Randye Ackerman and her husband Israel of Montgomery, NY; his grandchildren, Brent, Ana, Tracy, Ish, and Paige and his great granddaughter Brianna.
Sheldon was predeceased by two sisters.
Graveside funeral services were held Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at in the Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery, Sunset Lake Road, Liberty, NY with Rabbi Edgar Stamler officiating.

Martin Kilroy
Retired Gas Turbine Operator, 73

Martin Kilroy of Eustis, Florida, formerly of Poughkeepsie, a retired Gas Turbine Operator for Cosolidated Edison died Saturday November 9, 2013 in Florida. He was 73.
Son of the late Francis And Catherine Kilroy he was born October 23, 1930 in Brooklyn. Martin was the husband of Ruth Friedenstine Kilroy. Martin was a US Army veteran, serving during the Cold War Era.
Martin is survived by his wife Ruth Friedenstine Kilroy, two sisters Mary Laban of Levittown, and Nora Carver of Rockville Center and four nieces and two nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and by his sister Ann Kilroy.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 15, 2013 at Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, 34 Upper Main Street, Callicoon, NY.
Burial will be in the Fremont Center Cemetery, Fremont Center, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Mildred L. Spafford
Retired Cafeteria Manager, 84

Mildred L. Spafford of Jeffersonville, NY, a retired cafeteria manager at Jeff-Youngsville and Delaware Valley Central Schools, died Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Sullivan County Adult Care Center, Liberty, NY, surrounded by her loving family.
The daughter of the late John G. and Theodora Schorr Miller, she was born April 7, 1929 in Buffalo, NY. She was married to the late Donald C. Spafford who died on November 9, 1987.
Mildred was a former owner of the North Branch Inn in North Branch, NY, a past member of the North Branch Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by three daughters and two sons: Lynn (Maury) Heim of Holden Beach, NC, Barbara (Bob) Cady of Livingston Manor, NY, Gail (Doug) Ketcham of Smallwood, NY, Michael (Judy) Spafford of Liberty, NY and Jack (Cathy) Spafford of Liberty, NY; seven grandchildren: Joelle (Ron) Burton, Jesse Taylor, Jeffrey Heim, Sherri (Rudy III) Roth, Nicole (Chris) Merchant, Michelle (Ricardo) Cruz and Ryan Kortright; six great-grandchildren: Rudy IV and Michael Roth, Gabriella and Hunter Scanna, Erys Burton and Joelle Cruz.
Friends may call Friday, November 15 at Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, 5068 Rt. 52, Jeffersonville, NY 12748 from 6 to 9 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 16 at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Pastor Ann Wood will officiate. Interment will be in the Heavenly Rest Cemetery, North Branch, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Meals on Wheels Nutrition Program, c/o Sullivan County Office for the Again, PO Box 5012, Monticello, NY 12701.
